About The Artist

 "My  mermaids tell a story. They begin with a pearl of an idea based on  culture, emotion, or reflection of the human experience. Each mermaid is  researched to pair her with geographically accurate aquatic fauna. She  is depicted not just to display her fantastical form, but to allow her  as an individual rich in character and complexity to introduce  herself. They are an exploration between human and animal, between  ourselves and our imagination." 

 Alexandra Lillis' artwork has been  featured in solo and group exhibits at governmental buildings and  cultural centers. In addition her work is in private collections.  Alexandra Lillis lives and draws her inspiration from Anna Maria Island,  Florida. She received her Bachelors of Fine Art (BFA) from Ringling  College of Art and Design, Florida
